5 Species of Rhinos

Rhinos Species are found in various countries across Africa and Asia. Some notable countries where rhinos are commonly found include South Africa, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, India, and Nepal. Each of these countries has different species of rhinos, such as the white rhino and black rhino in Africa, and the Indian rhino and Sumatran rhino in Asia.

1. Rhinos are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses, fruits, and leaves.They are known for their thick, protective skin, which can be up to 2 cm thick.

2. Rhinos have poor eyesight but a keen sense of smell and hearing. Rhino horns are made of keratin, the same substance as human hair and nails.

3. Rhinos can run at speeds of up to 30-40 miles per hour. They have a gestation period of around 13-16 months.

3. Indian Rhinos are Known as greater one-horned rhinos, they are found in India and Nepal, they are primarily found in the northeastern states of Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

4. Javan Rhinos are critically endangered and are found only in Ujung Kulon National Park in Java, Indonesia.

5. Sumatran Rhinos are critically endangered, Sumatran rhinos are found fragmented populations in Indonesia, primarily in Sumatra and Borneo Kalimantan.
